February Festival - Day Two
Feb. 2nd, 2012 11:53 pmDay 2 - a fic about your favorite pairing
Let's just call this post a salute to Chris/JC, shall we? Sometimes called TrickC, or Trickykitten, they are the pairing of my heart. I have no regrets.
As far as these two are concerned, I could go on reccing all night. But I'm going to have to limit myself, both in the interest of brevity and because I'm worried I'll deplete all my resources before the month is up. (That would suck; I'm planning on a long, fun-filled month of foisting my preferences onto everyone else.) So since I can only choose one, I'm gonna have to go with

JC and Chris are high school sweethearts. After graduation, JC runs off to Hollywood and becomes a huge success, and Chris...doesn't. They meet up by chance ten years later and sparks fly and I shriek in barely contained glee.
Catharthis is the name of the game here, kids. Because they haven't seen each other in over a decade and there's so much tension and bitterness sitting between them and it's all so wonderfully angstful that I just can't. And, oh, the lovely, torturous headcanon it inspires in me: like Chris sitting in his modest, middle class apartment, watching JC doing some lavish, hyper-sexual performance number on TV, not sure wether he wants to throw the television out the window or make out with it. Or JC, navigating his way through red carpet interviews and late night chat shows, politely deflecting all questions about his hometown and his childhood because everything reminds him of Chris and it's just too painful to think about.
Uh, not that I've given this a lot of thought or anything.
I almost forgot! It has a sequel: New Beginnings.
